THE WFT PHOTO COMPETITION
We are really excited to announce our new photo competition! The theme is ‘My Wychwood’ and you can interpret it in any way you choose.
You might want to focus on the beautiful Cotswolds landscape in the area once covered by the historic Wychwood Forest. Or perhaps you'd prefer to capture the animals and birds that call it home. Maybe you'd like to photograph rural crafts like hedgelaying or dry stone walling that are traditional in this area. The possibilities are endless! Whatever you decide, we want to see photographs that capture the essence of 'My Wychwood'.
Our judging panel will choose 12 finalists whose photographs will feature in the WFT 2024 calendar, with the winning image also appearing on the cover.
In addition, the winner will receive a £150 voucher to spend on camera equipment. Second prize is a beautiful piece of wall art kindly donated by A Blackbird Sang and inspired by an Oxfordshire hedgerow. Third prize is a beautiful hand-carved wooden bowl and spoon from well-known local greenwood carver, David Knight. Two lucky runners-up will win a wren garden ornament.
The calendar will be published in time for Christmas 2023 and the proceeds from sales will go to help the WFT continue our work preserving and restoring habitats in the historic Wychwood Forest area.
